Galapagos Voyage 10 Days: Photo Expedition Aboard National Geographic Polaris
Located 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, the Galápagos Islands provide a natural habitat for some of the world’s most interesting and unusual animals. Only in Galápagos will you come face to face with wildlife that has never developed a fear of people.

Because of the Galapagos Islands’ isolation in the Pacific Ocean, there is a wealth of animal and plant life found only here.  The animals have evolved without fear of humans and other predators, and you can watch them from extraordinarily close up. It’s exciting to stand next to boobies doing a courtship display, and to swim with sea lions and penguins.  The Galapagos have an otherworldly beauty — from the desert landscapes at sea level to tall volcanoes and lush highland forests.  The islands are a living laboratory of evolution. Charles Darwin visited in 1835, and his examination of the beaks of the Galapagos finches was instrumental in his formulating the theory of evolution.

This Galápagos vacation features nimble Zodiacs and kayaks that take you to the volcanic shores and pristine beaches of Galápagos, and an undersea program utilizes underwater video, glass-bottom boat and hydrophone that bring seldom seen or heard worlds to life. Every expedition in Galápagos is led by a team of five Naturalists, (including an Underwater Specialist), a videographer, and Expedition Leader, providing a multitude of resources for a rich and unmatched understanding of all that you’ll see.

You will travel on the National Geographic Polaris.
